I saw Cloverfield last night.
I loved it.
Ali hated it.
That should tell you what kind of movie this is.
I won't give anything away buuuuut.
I will say that no music during the credits is one of the strangest things I have ever experienced.
Usually when the movie ends no matter what you are attacked with some kind of blaring score, usually a much louder version of the theme of the movie if there was one.
Not this time.
No this time the movie ends with you jaw o0n the floor and then total silence.
I am not at all kidding when I say that no one moved or said anything for a full minute as the first few credits came and went.
Then in what may have been the best timing ever one guy in the back let out an almost relieved kind of laugh. The kind of laugh you give when you nearly avoid being hit by a bus.
He was immediately followed by an explosion of noise as the entire audience began laughing and applauding.
As I was leaving I wondered what would have happened if no one had said a word and that uncomfortable silence had remained.
I would probably still be sitting there.
